Corrupt a Wish

Hi everyone,

This is a new idea for a game that I've just recently learned from another discussion forum and thought others here might like to try as well.

It's pretty straightforward. One player makes a wish; the next person grants that wish, BUT gives it an imaginative twist that spoils it, in a humorous way (not in a personally cruel way!). Then that second player posts his or her own wish for the next person to corrupt, and so on.

For example:

Player 1: I wish I had my own Wishing-Chair!

Player 2: You get your own Wishing-Chair, but it's a bit hard of hearing and always takes you to the wrong places — like the Land of Fishes instead of the Land of Wishes.

I wish I could join the Find-Outers.

Player 3: You join the Find-Outers, but accidentally give away a vital "glue" to PC Goon and he solves the mystery first!

I wish I could become a famous author.

And so on... it doesn't have to be a Blyton-related or book-related wish, but as it's an Enid Blyton forum, I thought it'd be fun to use that theme sometimes. Really it can be any wish and any kind of corrupting, as long as it's all in fun!

I'll start us off with one...

You now own Smuggler's Top, but Quentin's plan to drain the marshes has been a complete success and now there's nothing really mysterious or exciting about the place any more.

I wish I could join Galliano's Circus!

Ok You're in but Mr Galliano has sold it to Dame Slap and your wages are now four slaps per day.

I wish I could eat one of Joan's pies.

You arrive in Tauri Hessia but there's a problem with your passport and the only part you see is the inside of a jail cell before you're sent back home again.

I wish I could watch Mr Galliano's circus go past my house.

You're just watching Mr Galliano's Circus go past your house when something startles Jumbo the elephant and he goes crashing through your front window.

I wish I could have a dog as clever as Lucky!

You could have yourself a dog as clever as Lucky.... except you already have Timmy. And he would get very jealous!

I wish I could go camping on Kirrin Common.

You go camping in Kirrin common, but fall into one of the excavations.

I wish I could find a secret passage.

You find a secret passage, but get yourself lost in the maze.

I wish I could live at Smugglers Top.

You get your wish, but get lost on the marsh in the fog.

I wish I lived near the Enchanted Wood.

You now live near the Enchanted Wood, but all the trees get blown down in a storm.

I wish I could ride on a Spook train.

You get to ride on the spook train, but the driver disappears and you are left stranded in a very dark place!

I wish I could go on a hike with the Five.

[Boatbuilder]

You go on a hike with the five but your hiking boots get you stuck in the middle of a muddy field.

I wish I could go to the Mountain of Adventure.
