It did occur to me that as none of us have ever heard of Pantomime Wolf, we (or anybody else, for that matter) would never find it in the Cave. I love reading these stories, are there any more in the Cave - if so, how do we find them?

I've just read Pantomime Wolf now, in the Cave, after reading back through this thread, and it is a lovely little story! I had never heard of it before now, though, so I would never have guessed the title.

You make a good point here, Nigel, as there are a number of uncollected stories in the Cave, and no real way of finding where they are. There are actually 205 uncollected stories in Teachers World and I am only missing seven of these so 198 are already in the Cave and all have been out of print for over 75 years. I do have a list of these, but if I put it in the forums it would go on for several pages! Perhaps it needs its own thread!

There are a number of stories like Pantomime Wolf that were specially written as contributions to books, none of which have appeared again. This one is in an obscure little book which is difficult to find a copy of and it also has a Richmal Crompton 'William' story in it. I have one or two of these stories in the Cave, but perhaps we need more in there, such as this one.

Tony, perhaps there could be a sub-category somewhere in the Cave for Uncollected Short Stories - so that they'll all come up together in the same place? I'm not sure how the Cave's categorising system works, so I don't know if that would be feasible, but just a thought.
