Ah yes Boatbuilder! They got off lightly the Kirrins didn’t they?! I remember watching those episodes pre-Covid and thinking, wow, the things they had to deal with back then.. not like modern today.

Hmmm ... perhaps this is a stretch but here's a video version of a 78 series quiz, based on the Hike Together adaptation.

Well, I hope it occupies a few spare minutes in your day.

Here’s a new question:

In which episode does Aunt Fanny remind George to take her hayfever pills [deliberately written into the script because Michelle suffered visibly from hayfever]?

I’ll ask an easy one:

Comparing the book Five Go Off in a Caravan to the TV adaptation, what was different about the children’s mode of transport?

Any guesses? They were caravans in both cases, but what was different about them?

Yes, I’ll accept that. Enid describes the vans as modern and the illustrations in the book reflect this, showing the run-of-the-mill caravans often used by holidaymakers. In the TV series, the vans are the traditional traveller/Romani type, sometimes called vardos.

Thanks, Morgan.

To which of the books does this refer, and to whom?
The little scamp has taken Dick's bike and is off via the woods and the valleys and the hills to Granton to rattle the window of a man who could be connected with the current situation.

This isn’t really about the 1978 series, so if Nigel doesn’t answer, and nobody else guesses, we may as well have a new question.
