Short Story Competition

Post by Farwa »

Hi everyone! I know a that a game like this hasn't been played for a long time, so I thought I'd start one.

The idea of this game is that, first one person gives any Enid Blyton story title. Then, the others have to make a story based on it, e.g. if the title is, "The House with Six legs", then the others have to make a story about a house with legs and what happened to it, etc. After that, a winner is chosen, and he/she gives the next title.

I think it should be fun, and also stir our creativity, and so, here's the first title -
The Magic Icecream
A day spent without a smile is a day lost.

Er - you're supposed to make an entire story, Moonraker - it can be short though.

Ok. Because it was magic, it reformed. Then along came Buster and licked it up!

To be honest, the forums aren't designed for pieces of work which might stretch to several pages. If you want to share a story, it's best to upload it somewhere else and post a link to it.
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.

There's also a game where one person invents a new Blyton-style book title and the next person has to make up a blurb to go with it: http://www.enidblytonsociety.co.uk/foru ... =19&t=4913" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Yes, I think we've tried that and it petered out. Mind you, we seem to have loads of games threads at the moment, so maybe we've saturated the genre?
