It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

You know it has to be that Courtenay if you have checked the letters.
I hope Fiona isn't too upset as she seems to have been working on it for a while and you've pipped her to the post.
Over to you!

Re: Title Anagrams
I worked it out a little while ago but was waiting to see if Fiona would come back... maybe I should have waited a bit longer.
Anyway, I don't have time to make up a new anagram just yet, so Fiona, if you're there and you come up with one first, please go ahead!!

Re: Title Anagrams
I actually searched for books with pink in them as I thought that was a potential word, just missed that one obviously!
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Re: Title Anagrams
I didn't twig at all (though I suspected "book" was in the title, but that hardly narrows the field!!) until John (Boatbuilder) gave the clue!
I'm serious, though, Fiona — if you want to take the next turn, that's absolutely fine. I don't have much time to think up anagrams just at the moment and I'm feeling guilty for having jumped in on this one before you had the chance to come back.

I didn't even 'get' the clue until I saw your answer and had another think about it. I was stuck on trying to think of a colour which had a shrill sounding name. It's totally fine to jump in whenever, otherwise we might have been here a veerrryy long time waiting for me to have an epiphany.
I'll do another anagram anyway, save us waiting for ages for you
Hie! Obey she that loves swift hand.
(punctuation is added by me).

It's ok I have remembered! It just came to me there. I'm not telling, though.
