Well, I was actually just helping you, Adventure!
Apologies...
Apologies...
Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.
When once the itch of literature comes over a man, nothing can cure it but the scratching of a pen.

Anyway, as this thread has gone off-topic, I'll say:
Lucky Star, where are you? We've been waiting for days for you post us a new translation, and you seem to have not looked at this thread though you've been online a lot. Please, do post a question.

I have been very busy lately and have not had time to find and arrange a translation. You really need to learn some patience Adventure, you are quite exasperating sometimes. I will post one in a few days or, if you like, you can continue with one of your own and I will just miss this turn.Adventure wrote:Anyway, as this thread has gone off-topic, I'll say:

Oh no, I'd rather wait for your translation, Lucky Star, 'cause it's not fair if I take your turn. Anyway, you also have got to post in 'Where's This From?', but it can also wait.

Fine then especially for Adventure
I have telled, - I wooden foot ....." am the old person who was said impatiently. As for "night watch" you see? "But what we should see here, I" am struck. "Do they looking at me because of those which are going train the ghost which is thought"? There is no "healthy I". "My life, it is in me, and kind are many strange things in the large box which those could to have excessively and because of the train of all ghosts" above this does not see.

Re: Weird translation of a scene
This is from Five Go Off to Camp.
Here is the original passage:
'I told you - I Wooden-Leg Sam,' said the old man impatiently. 'The watchman, see? Though what there is to watch here, beats me. Do they think I'm going to watch for spook-trains? Well, I'm not. Not me, Sam Wooden-Leg. I've seen many strange things in my life, yes, and been scared by them too, and I'm not watching for any more spook-trains.'
I hope it's correct, Lucky Star.
P.S.: Can you tell me in to which language did you translate it? It's a very funny passage.
