Re: The Solution Game...
Thanks! Ok, new Puzzle:
There is a shallow yet extremely fast flowing river. This time, Anne has been Kidnapped, along with Tim and she has hastily scribbled a note that says Bicconsfield Mansion. George, Julian, and Dick need to go and rescue her. Bicconsfield Mansion is on the other side of the river. They have no bridge to get across. No pocket knifes, nothing. But they have a STRONG and long creeper, and a lot of stout logs. Tall and strong trees line the bank on both sides. How do they get across as fast as possible?
( I have 2 solutions for this one I'll tell you them later! Remember, the river is shallow! )

Re: The Solution Game...
Wow! That is a GOOD one Sunskriti- you could write a story about that!
By the way- how come it's only me and you posting on this thread too? How come everyone's deserting us??
How about they lasso the creeper so it hooks to a tree branch on the other side and then tie the other end of the creeper to a tree. Then hang on so they are upside down and push their way across to the other side?

Re: The Solution Game...
Two of them hold a creeper while the other ties it round there waist and sets off across the river. When he or she reach the other side they tie it to tree and the others come across holding on to it.
In came the Taggertys. They were clean, except Biddy knees looked like she had been crawling half a mile in some muddy place.

Re: The Solution Game...
Both the above solutions was nice. Good thinking. Now, a little clue as to one of mine: think about this:

Do the opposite trees meet over head?
Because if they did they could clambour across to the other side...

Re: The Solution Game...
OK, guys, I mightn't be able to log on later today, so here goes:
Second Place:
POPPY HUTCHINSON!
This was a nice one Poppy, over to you!
I had to choose between Loony and Poppy, but Loony's suggestion might not work if you are swept aside and unable to clamber up to the other bank.
So, OVER TO POPPY!

Re: The Solution Game...
Oh! Thanks Sunskriti! Well done Loony and here's the next one:
Dick has been thrown into a cupboard in the middle of exploring a large castle. Two burly men had found him and locked him in to a large, empty wooden cupboard. It is quite big but the wood it is thick but quite strong. It is pitch black except for a tiny bit of light piercing through the key hole and through the crack at the bottom of the door. The others are still adventuring but Dick is gagged and has his hands tied but he still has the use of thembt cannot reach to untie the gag. He cannot bang on the wood because it is so thick it will make no noise. Dick only has the contents of his pockets (notebook, pencil, chocolate bars and a torch). How can he get out maybe with the others help?
There you go! A week as now I'll announce the winner! Goodluck!
