But,
Shadow has correctly guessed it! Over to you Shadow! Sorry for taking so long to reply. We down in "Down-Under" have different times to those in England.shadow wrote:Is this burnt cottage when Fatty and Larry go to Mr Smellies?
And just to make it clear, the blurbs you write do not have to be in the same format as I did.

Re: Guess the Book from the Blurb
Thanks, at least I got something right!
Here's the next one, hope it makes sense.
We have yet another book from that prolific writer Enid Blyton or is it? This book has everything you ever wanted including rolling hills, heather, animals and the sea is only a few miles away. We have another bunch of children with the cute obligatory dogs, wondering about some very suspicious men in a nearby cabin. Will it all be right in the end, will the children ever manage to find their way through underground caves and will the bad men ever be caught?

If I could live here on this secret island always and always and always, and never grow up at all, I would be quite happy

"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Shadow, you had relied on the same book for the 'Picture This' puzzle which was resolved very recently (by Fiona, as it happens), so it was perhaps a bit too obvious.

Re: Guess the Book from the Blurb
Yeah the book was probably nearer the front of my mind thanks to the picture quiz than it would have been otherwise. I haven't read it in a while.
I'll come up with a new one this afternoon.

When sneaky sailing and exploring lands the kids in trouble, it's up to the mysterious man from the shack to help out.
