What are the nicknames of Phillip Mannering and Jack Trent?
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Re: Male Characters Quiz
I was hoping this one and the female character quiz would die a natural death because any question asked here can easily go in one of the other regular quiz threads. As Anita said, it doesn't make sense to start a new thread unless it offers something an existing thread doesn't. Many of us are finding it increasingly difficult to frame a new question that hasn't been asked already, so this isn't helping. The question above, for instance, can go in the Adventure series quiz, which has been languishing lately.

Re: Male Characters Quiz
So what if a Q has been used before? The chances of someone remembering that are slim (unless it was very recently).

Re: Male Characters Quiz
The more the number of threads, the more the chances are that they will fall by the wayside. Why can't one start a 'senior quiz' featuring characters above a certain age, or a 'large dogs' quiz? Well, it's possible. but it will have to be a one-off effort. It will be next to impossible to sustain as a long-running thread.
However, that's just an opinion. There's no need to axe this thread if there are enough people to keep it going. I was just going by the lukewarm response, and the fact that when it comes to Blyton it doesn't really matter to me in the least if a character is male or female.
