Mr Tipperlong (or Trippalong as the children called him).

Adventure series, quiz

Arrrrrrh! Absolutely correct. Your turn for the next question.
By the way, in the short time I've been a member of the society, I've wondered whether Moonraker has an EB connatation - or is it just JB?

There's a clue in the picture! ;-)

A pair of Wiltshiremen, engaged in smuggling brandy, hide a barrel of the contraband from the excisemen in a nearby pond and when they return at some later time, in the dark, they are caught in the act of raking the barrel back to land. They immediately claim that they are trying to rake cheese - the reflection of the moon - from the pond and the excisemen, amused by the apparently simple-minded rustics, leave them to it.

The moral of the story is that, despite their earthy accents, Wiltshire folk are not as slow-witted as some would believe and, to this day, people born in the county are proud to call themselves moonrakers.

Anyway, back to the quiz:

Thanks Moonraker. You were certainly sharp  in picking up that the 'new' Famous Five book might be a fake. I did look to see if the picture was from an EB but decided I didn't recognise it.

A: It's only a faint guess, but I'd say it has to be Jack - in Island - telling Philip his "biggest regret ever" would be never to find a great auk!

A: Didn't Jack say that in The Ship of Adventure - that it would be his biggest regret ever if he didn't get to see the Andra treasure?

adventure quiz

Hi Anita.

That's correct, and he never did get to see Andra's treasure in the vaults.
But each of them were to choose one item each as a reward so he did get to see some of the treasure.

[Gareth:] "each of them were to choose one item each as a reward"

I used to be really envious of that. Just imagine being able to hang an ancient dagger on your bedroom wall (perhaps just above the shelf containing the copper nugget you collected in a previous adventure!) And on the wall next to the dagger would be a series of photos of golden eagles, puffins, etc, plus copies of treasure maps used in various adventures. As you can probably tell, I identified mostly with Jack!

Anyway, on to the next question:

Q: What did Philip find in his pocket which Lucy-Ann described as "much, much more exciting than our adventure!"?
