I think:
Waterfall, bent tree, flat black rock, a spring, a rock shaped like a man, then it was the entrance to the tunnel.

Q, What is the name of the hen in Valley?

I'm not too sure if this is what you mean but I think it's because while they were climbing down they could feel the air blowing around them.

If I was right here's the next Q
How many steps were there leading down to the treasure caves in 'Valley'?

Miss Lawson

Q, How did Jack get away from Pepi in Valley?
Golly I'm hungry!

He kicked his ankle, then a suitcase fell from the tree and hit Pepe on the head, then Jack tied him up (with the rope he always (!) carries round his waist.

Incidentally, does anyone know if the waterfall and caves were based (albeit loosely) on a particular location? I assume somewhere one can find a cave of stars of some sort? :D :?:

The person who answers the question asks the next one? OK.

What are the names of Philip's new found pets in Island, Castle and Valley of Adventure (the book that I'm up to this time round).

Viking Star (formerly known as Golly I'm hungry!)
