Is it Secret Seven Win Through?
The Chief looked at Fatty. "Brains are good, courage is excellent, resourcefulness is rare," he said, "but generosity crowns everything, Frederick. One of these days I'll be proud of you!" - "Vanished Prince".

Thank you Moonraker.

New question:

Colin's neighbour the old General had his medals stolen. What book was it and what was the General's name?

You are halfway there Nick, look up the name.

I can't quite bring myself to look it up but I've a feeling it's something like Blackstone?

Yes General Branksome is correct, very good. Over to you for the next question.

Thanks Anjalli - though it was Nick’s near-correct answer that jogged my memory!

When Peter and Janet first formed the society, who was the only member out of the other five to be specifically chosen by Peter?

Think this is in Secret of the Old Mill? It's been years since I last read it but I've a feeling it's Jack?

Yes, I believe that’s the book that tells of how the seven formed the secret society. The answer isn’t Jack though.
