Re: Famous Five Books - a Quiz
In Five Get Into Trouble Anne suggests giving Timmy’s poisoned food to the chickens at Owls Dene.
(She wasn’t being serious).
The book with the Stick family is Five Run Away Together.

Re: Famous Five Books - a Quiz
They're the two, Barnard. Well done.
The children pretend to scrape the food into the chicken enclosure when Hunchy is watching, and then make plenty of loud, humorous comments when he panics and starts brushing up the hen-run.
Your turn.

Thanks, Bertie.
Which human member of the Famous Five is hit twice with a stick in Five Are Together Again?

No, Monique. It’s not Dick.

Re: Famous Five Books - a Quiz
It's a long time since I read the last two FF books, so I don't remember if the hitting with a stick was intentional or not? If it was a proper blow, then I'm sure it would only be Julian or Dick on the receiving end. If it was unintentional, or a comedy moment with an animal or something giving light taps, then it could be any of them.
Dick would have been my first guess, but while we're down to a one in three choice then I'll opt for Julian?

It is not Julian, Bertie, but the hitting was jocular.

Re: Famous Five Books - a Quiz
So that just leaves either George or Anne!
I won't have another guess myself, while I had the last one, but hopefully someone else will take a 50-50 go at it soon.

Was it Tinker?
The Chief looked at Fatty. "Brains are good, courage is excellent, resourcefulness is rare," he said, "but generosity crowns everything, Frederick. One of these days I'll be proud of you!" - "Vanished Prince".

Re: Famous Five Books - a Quiz
It can't be Tinker, Anjalli - Barnard specified a human member of the Famous Five, not which character in the book.
Dick and Julian have already been (incorrectly) guessed, so it must be either George or Anne.

Yes. George is correct, Yak.
When Dick and George put on the ‘donkey costume’, circus boy Jeremy hits the rear half, which is George, with a stick.
Your go next.

Which song did Edgar Stick sing that really annoyed many of the Five?

Re: Famous Five Books - a Quiz
Yak, that was 'Georgie Porgie'.
(I don't even remember the donkey costume incident that Barnard was asking about. Just shows how little I've read the last two books compared to the rest!)
