Re: Can We Do a Limerick Together???
When Miss Trimble lost her glasses,
She didn't see Goon making passes.
As he entered the gate,
She saw him too late,
It looked like a scene from the farces!
Tame, I know, Rob.

'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

When Ern stepped out in the night,
Turning a corner, he had a big fright.

I was thinking 'and both of them fell on their 'asses' - but I was using the short sound of the words as per 'up north' rather than parses and glarses.
Anyway - 'as you were' -
When Ern stepped out in the night,
Turning a corner, he had a big fright.
When a cat jumped out,
He gave a great shout,
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Re: Can We Do a Limerick Together???
I have to admit I was also thinking of something like "fell on their..." — which I do spell and pronounce to rhyme with "parses" and "glarses" — but that might have been a bit too rude for an Enid Blyton site!! In any case, I just thought it would be amusing to imagine Goon being desperate enough to try his luck with Miss Trimble...Rob Houghton wrote:Eddie Muir wrote:When Miss Trimble lost her glasses,

Love this too — well done all. How about a new Find-Outers one...snugglepot wrote:When Ern stepped out in the night,

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
