The first picture must be Nigel, as he's put Pongo (Who else would know the name of his toy )
Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.

Re: Name the Forumite
Are people ready to see the answers soon? I'm thinking of posting them tomorrow, probably in the evening (British time).

Re: Name the Forumite
Ready when you are, Anita. Once again, my vote of thanks for taking up this idea and doing all the work in setting it up.
My thanks, too, to all who - in one rôle or another - have made this quiz such a success.
Guess I've made some ludicrous mis-identifications, for which I humbly apologise to both parties traduced/slandered in each wrong identification. One wonders if those who have had the privilege of actually meeting many of the forumites shown in the gallery found it any harder or easier than the rest of us?
Now might be a good time for those of us [young Aurélien pleads guilty] who followed Anita's suggestion to mis-name their own photos to 'fess-up to this misleading tactic without, however, saying which photo is theirs.
Learning from my own mistakes, may I suggest *Ducks broom swung vigorously by our Forum Administrator* that forumites who missed out on having their mug-shots included this time around, and would be interested in taking part in another quiz like this one some time in 2010, pm our Anita rather than 'letting the cat out of the bag' here.

Re: Name the Forumite
I confess, Aurélien. I misnamed my own photo! Thank you for suggesting the game; it has been a great fun attempting to identify the forumites from the submitted pictures. Thanks also to Anita for setting it up. I'm looking forward to seeing the answers later today.Aurélien wrote:Now might be a good time for those of us [young Aurélien pleads guilty] who followed Anita's suggestion to mis-name their own photos to 'fess-up to this misleading tactic without, however, saying which photo is theirs.

Re: Name the Forumite
Are any of the 13 planning to post a more recent photo for scientific comparison?

That would be quite a good idea - then we could guess from those pictures as well!

Anyway, a link to a fairly recent photo of old Aurélien was posted earlier this year.....anyone that desperate to do a comparison can jolly well hunt up the posting and click on the link.

Re: Name the Forumite
Even i'll have to think about posting a recent photo. Any way, I don't think I will. Sorry.
Thanks Anita and Aurelien for a wonderful game!!! I enjoyed it very much and I believe that all the other forumites did as well.
Aurelien, I hope that you would think of another splendid game!!

It's time to reveal the identities of the "young rascals"!

5 6
7 8
9 10
11 12

1 - Nigel (Moonraker) - there are two faces in the photo so I'll leave you to decide which one is his!
2 - Muminah
3 - Eddie
4 - Fiona
5 - Anita
6 - Tony
7 - Shadow
8 - Petermax - that luxuriant mop of hair seems to have led some people astray in their guessing!
9 - Ming
10 - Young Aurélien
11 - Julie
12 - Laura
13 - Robert Houghton
Most people scored 5 or 6 out of 13 but you can give yourself a bonus point if you sent in a picture, because you were obviously unable to put the correct name against your own photo. If I've totted up the scores correctly I think Aurélien got the most right, with 8 out of 13. A great score, Aurélien, especially as you've never met any fellow forumites in person. Well done too to Muminah, Ming and Fiona for taking the plunge and submitting your answers early on.
Everyone identified my photo correctly so I'll take it that I haven't aged a bit since 1973!
I bet Petermax got rather a surprise when he saw some of the guesses!

Erkgh!!! Knew I'd end up apologising profoundly to someone here. Deepest apologies, Petermax....unless perchance you are actually related to the late MG....that combination of nose and hair led me astray.
Ah well, you can always print off my picture and use it for darts practice.

Well I'm brave enough to take the plunge despite having the amazing ability to look really odd in photos.....

Brave of you, Fiona. That curly-hair / straight-hair thing would make it tough on anyone trying to match your before & after photos.

Here's my "up to date" photo from 5 years ago on a trip to London. Keep meaning to post a current photo, will have to get round to it one day.
Here it is - does it look anything like photo number 7

Re: Name the Forumite
It's good to see the more recent photos, Fiona and Shadow! Aurélien is right that the change from curly hair to straight hair would make it harder to identify you, Fiona. Shadow, although I can see that the facial features are similar, the main difference to me is that you look more confident in the adult photograph.
