Re: Who do you prefer?
Definitely still Zoe.
I feel a little sorry for Lucian, as he's inoffensive enough and has a hard time of from his Uncle. And the kids could put up with him better, though I wouldn't have liked to have spent much time with him either. Whereas Zoe seems a pleasant, likeable character.

Pedro. I loved the bit where Jack spoke to him in umpteen different languages before finding out he spoke English.

Actually Oola, probably because unlike most other people I am a great 'fan of the "River of Adventure" and feel sorry for him!

Re: Who do you prefer?
I'll go with Yan. Can't say I particularly warmed to him or Oola (or Tala), but I much prefer the FF book and actually don't even bother reading River nowadays and end the series after the very enjoyable Circus.

Two similarly annoying waifs. I'll go with Yan as he lives in Cornwall and I love the coast there.

Re: Who do you prefer?
Yan, because he actually has some personality, unlike Pam. (And I love the coast of Cornwall too.)

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: Who do you prefer?
Not a great choice, but as I've never liked Five Have a Mystery to Solve then I'll stick with Yan.

Although Perce is a bit non-descript compared to his brothers I still prefer him to Yan.

Re: Who do you prefer?
As Boodi says, Perce is rather non-descripit. More likeable than Sid, but that's not saying much - and doesn't bring any laughter or likeability as Ern does. Peter is as officious as Julian, but is the most important member of the SS books and is the one most responsible for all they achieve. So I'll opt for him.

Re: Who do you prefer?
Dick. He probably goes under the radar at times - in the shadow of Julian and George - but I think he's one of the best balanced of Enid's characters: he's quite witty, likeable, brave and reliable and without any real flaw such as being either dull, reckless or bossy.

Difficult, but probably Dick for all the reasons Bertie mentioned above.

I like Barney, especially in the first 4 books, but I'll go with Dick again.

Strangely enough, Mr. Goon as the books wouldn't be the same without him.

Re: Who do you prefer?
Again, like Boatbuilder, I'll pick the more dislikeable Mr Goon just because he adds so much more to the stories than Inspector Jenks, who just comes in late on. A lot of the humour also comes through Goon, albeit most of it not intentional on his part!
