Definitely Mr. Goon, as he adds a great deal of (unintentional) comedy to the books, while Julian's manner and attitude usually irritate me (just about the only thing I approve of is how he handles Pa Stick).
Mr. Goon or his nephew Ern Goon (both FFO)?

Re: Who do you prefer?
That's actually a really tough one as while I obviously prefer Ern as a person, as we've all been saying PC Goon offers so much to the story. But I'll go for Ern, as he also offers plenty in the books that he's in, and it's thanks to him (originally) that we get all the wonderful pomes.

Definitely Ern. He's lots of fun, while Dinah's frequent rages don't really add all that much to the stories and don't make her a very likeable character.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: Who do you prefer?
I'll stick with Ern. Andy is a very solid and reliable character but I've not read them as often as my favourite series and never really grew to like the characters in the same way as the FFO or FF. Whereas Ern is an interesting and entertaining character in by far my favourite series.

Very difficult as I like them both, but Ern just gets my vote as he is one of my favourite characters.

Re: Who do you prefer?
Tough one, as I like them both a lot despite them being very different and adding very different things to their series.
As much entertainment as Ern beings, I'll go with George - just because her devoted love for Tim and (initial) love of solitude is something I've always identified with a lot.
George (FF) or Daisy (FFO)?

George, as she adds a great deal more to the Famous Five series than Daisy does to the Five Find Outer mysteries. Indeed, Daisy could probably be removed from the stories and one would never notice, while it would be impossible to remove George without ruining (or at any rate diminishing) the adventures.

Re: Who do you prefer?
I'll go for George as she's a more interesting character. Diana is described as "harum-scarum" to begin with but she actually becomes rather sedate as the series goes on, spending a lot of time in the company of Miss Pepper.

Re: Who do you prefer?
Lotta! My favourite female character in all of Enid Blyton (as you might guess from my avatar). I love the fact that unlike George, she never gets caught up in arguments over what girls "should" or "shouldn't" do — she just goes ahead and does what she reckons is right, regardless of what anyone else says, and ends up saving the circus!
