Re: Who do you prefer?
Now then... Jimmy Brown may have turned out to be like Mr Galliano when he had grown up... but I'll go for Jimmy Brown as we hear so much more of him.

Jimmy Brown as I longed to be him when I was a child. What a great situation Enid dreamed up for him.

Re: Who do you prefer?
A tricky one - but I have to say Snubby - because he's one of Enid's most amusing characters in my opinion!

Fatty, a very smart, happy child. Would love to be like him.

Re: Who do you prefer?
Fatty, definitely. Pip's not bad, but he mainly acts as the slightly patronising older brother trying to keep Bets in her place. Fatty is brilliant, clever, talented and lovably infuriating (or infuriatingly lovable?) in the way he's full of himself but always lives up to his own boasting!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: Who do you prefer?
That's a hard one Courtenay!
I love Fatty as a character, always looking out for mystery, very intelligent and friendly but I think this time I will go for Barney, as he is a ideal person I need just now. With Miranda as well, of course!!

Julian, natch! Authoritative, yet jovial and also kind-hearted.
But then again, I've only read FAMOUS FIVE, not THE R------- MYSTERIES.

Philip, definitely. Julian is not bad, but he's pompous and patronising at times. Philip never is, as far as I can recall.

Hmm, good one! I will go for Philip as the more even-tempered of the two though Dinah does add colour to the stories!

Re: Who do you prefer?
Hmmm, hard to pick, as they're both good characters and get very involved in all the adventures. I'll pick Jack because he has Kiki!

Ah well, it has to be Jack just because we get to know him so much better in the longer series although Andy is an admirable character too.

Re: Who do you prefer?
Jack Trent. Even though I really love Dick Kirrin, I believe Jack Trent is more of an adventurer and of course, he has Kiki!
Dick is an exceptional character but I am going for Jack this time.

How can you separate those two? It has to be Jack though.
