Michael Mcintyre Life & Laughing
Anyone else read it yet?
Our whole family are really enjoying it,even Mum and the kids!
Weve got the audiobook version as well......its really really funny as he reads it like he was performing on stage.
Dont think our family have laughed as much for ages!

Does anyone else see the physical resemblance to Leslie Crowther?

A slight resemblance. Leslie Crowther had a thinner face I think.

How well I remember Leslie and Peter Glaze in Crackerjack in the 1960s - and Eamonn Andrews in the show in the late 1950s. A great children's BBC television programme.
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

I remember Peter Glaze from Crackerjack in the 70's. A marvellous show. Re: Michael Mcintyre Life & Laughing
I watched Crackerjack in the 1970s. I remember Peter Glaze with another man, but can't remember who it was. I'm fairly sure it wasn't either Eamonn Andrews or Leslie Crowther though, I have the name 'Don' in my mind, but knowing how I mix up memories, I could be wrong. Can anyone remember? Later there was another presenter, called I think Stu Francis. I've a feeling his catch phras was 'oooh, I could crush a grape'.Lucky Star wrote:I remember Peter Glaze from Crackerjack in the 70's. Back to the original thread of Michael Mcintyre, I must try and get my hands on a copy of his book. From what I've seen of him on TV I think he's really funny. I can now tolerate the family watching Britain's Got Talent as some of his comments are so good.

Don McLean? I'd forgotten him until you mentioned that Katherine. Ed Stewart also had a stint on it - known as Ed Stewpot in his heyday I think! Pip Hinton was the petite lady who was in it from the start - (again, I think!)

Stu Francis is the Crackerjack presenter I remember best, Katharine, and The Krankies.

Thanks Daisy and Anita. Don McLean sounds right. I think they used have a joke that went 'McLean? Yes, I had a bath this morning!' I'd forgotten about Ed Stewart, I used to watch him too and the Krankies.
I don't remember the female assistant, I've tried to picture her, but the only ones I can think of were in either The Golden Shot or It's A Knockout.
