I'm quite shocked to read this! RIP. :(
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Stephen was a real gentleman and always conducted himself with great dignity - I'm glad I bought his book and was also able to interact with him on this very thread on the occasion of two of his recent birthdays.

I truly believe Stephen had a really great love and appreciation for Enid Blyton - which is what at the end of the day binds us all in unity on these forums.

R.I.P Stephen - I shall miss, but not forget you.

He was a nice and cool man judging by his posts. Always courteous and his responses were always calm and did not like to stir up the trouble. Sometimes I felt that he was bullied left and right. Bullying is never ok in my book.

I agree with most of the criticism of his book based on people's reviews although I never read his book.

Nigel summed up his online character nicely:
Moonraker wrote:Stephen Isabirye has received shed loads of criticism and leg-pulling concerning his Anecdotage. It is to Stephen's credit that he has never taken offence or thrown toys around. Stephen is always respectful and entertains us with his varied posts and comments. Good on you, Stephen.
From the deep down of my heart, rest in peace, Stephen Isabirye.

I didn't know Stephen directly, only through reading earlier posts by him and others about his book, but it's clear how sincere and courteous he always was and how much he loved Enid Blyton's works. I'm very sorry to hear of his untimely passing and my thoughts are with his family. RIP.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

This is very sad news. he did indeed take all the ribbing and joking about his book here in very good spirit. I almost met him once as I was visiting Flagstaff Arizona where he lived. Sadly I was unaware he lived there until after the event. RIP Dr Stephen Isabirye.

Very sad news indeed.
He had a deep interest in Enid Blyton and seemed to have happy memories of reading her books as a youngster.
