It was 75 years ago yesterday (4th) that Anne Frank and seven others were discoved by the Nazis in hiding in Amsterdam.
I've just been reading this article about the search that is still going on to try and find out who the betrayer was.

Thank you for posting the link, John.
Chick and I will be going to Amsterdam next week and we are looking forward to visiting the Anne Frank House once again.

Actually there are several suspects.
Austrian author Melissa Mueller believes it was the cleaning woman, Lena Hartog.
Carol Ann Lee is convinced that Tony Ahlers was the culprit. He blackmailed Otto Frank after the war, because Otto Frank was (indirectly) making business with the german Wehrmacht (but many Dutch companies did business with the Germans during WW II).

PS: Even Tony Ahler's son admitted openly that it was his father.

What an interesting article, many thanks for sharing, Boatbuilder, and so well illustrated by photographs. I wonder if the culprit will ever be definitely named.Boatbuilder wrote:It was 75 years ago yesterday (4th) that Anne Frank and seven others were discoved by the Nazis in hiding in Amsterdam.
