I like what I've read of Chekhov's non-fiction. And many of the short stories are extraordinary. It always comes down to personal taste in the end though, doesn't it, so my sympathies to you! I had to study Henry James at one time, and I just cannot stand his writing, even though everyone else adored it - nevertheless he and I do not mix!
Are they taking you to a production of it or anything like that? I always think it's a bit odd studying a play if you don't have the opportunity to watch it be performed too.

I cant believe how the whole class just loves it its boring Im quite new there as I changed colleges but these people have seriously been brainwashed.
at my old college I did an enid blyton style treasure hunt play while another group did britney spears crossroads. Anythings better than chekhov!

Re: Anton Chekhov
This year I finished reading some of Chekhov's short stories. I have never found anything so enjoyable. The stories were superb any fascinating. Also, each one teaches you something. I love Anton Chekhov. He was and certainly is a magnificent author.
