Dear Enid Blyton followers.
i was brought up on Noddy of 60s with all his fun and foibles. Big ears,Golliwogs, etc.
I am a bit of a car and model enthusiast.
I submit what i found as a possible reason for Noddy driving such a colorful car. A German car of similar hues, made since 1930s and i guess the
actual cars were sold with this livery.Car is DISTLER WANDERER 1930s
Comments please i attach some pictures ...justa bit of fun [/img][/img]

Re: Noddy Cars - truth or fiction
Interesting post!
Distler was a firm based in Nuremberg that produced metal toys (mainly model cars and trains) from the 1890s until it closed in 1962, when the name and patents were sold to a Belgian company, which I think still exists.
The Wanderer W23 convertible, which does bear a passing resemblance to Noddy's car in terms of colour (it must have been very "daring" in an era when most cars were black, although I think the Wanderer was much longer), was built in Chemnitz between 1937 and 1942 by one of the firms that later amalgamated to form Audi.

An interesting thought, unfortunately I can't see any of the pictures so can't tell if there's a connection or not.

I'm afraid pictures can't be uploaded directly to the forums, Alan. They need to be uploaded to a picture-hosting site such as Imgur and then the relevant tags/links can be pasted into a forums post.
