My Calendar arrived today :D
Now I have to find a spare wall space to hang it

Great news Jomo - you've just reminded me to turn mine over from February.
I was enjoying the picture so much I forgot!

If the Enid Blyton Society needs to raise more funds, perhaps we could do a print on demand calendar of our own next year - one possible theme could be locations juxtaposed with illustrations from the books, or something different on a fantasy and fairies theme.

Superb idea Jomo.

I shouldn't really spoil the surprise, but it has been mooted that 2023 may be the year we have

Is the picture for May a long line of cars following Moonraker, going the wrong way?
If I could live here on this secret island always and always and always, and never grow up at all, I would be quite happy

Oh dear, that reminds me of the old(ish) joke...

A wife calls her husband on his car phone as he's driving home on the motorway: "Darling, I just heard on the radio that there's a car driving the wrong way on the motorway. Please take care, won't you?"

"A car, dear? There are DOZENS of them!!"

:P

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

He was lucky - it could have been hundreds.

On another note...

A human being living in Central Europe wants to make a holiday in Great Britain and wonders if it should go by car, by plane or by train. It decides to practice driving on the left side on a motorway. After ten minutes it decides - no car.

The current calendar picture (from Five Are Together Again) is my favourite of the three we've had so far - really bright and joyful.
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.

Yes, I agree Anita.
I have the calendar in the kitchen. It's great to see Eileen Soper's colourful illustrations in such large detail!
