Well as the driver of a small red car, I think it's very offensive against red car owners. ;) :)

Wouldn't using 'Person' have been PC enough? I doubt that would have raised my question.

I see your point, but I could say I didn't want to insult other beings with their own personality who are not human beings ;-).

Better to err on the side of caution. ;)

Would they be reading this? :?

Best not to answer that, just leave it to the imagination.

Getting back on topic:

It's hard to imagine it won't be too long before another picture/month is revealed on the 2022 calander.

Which book is this scene from?
Was it in colour in the original book?

Eileen's depiction of the birds in the above scene is superb!

That's a good question.

It's not one I recognise, but I'd guess at the one with the American girl who has to pretend to be a boy to avoid being kidnapped. I'm basing that on the extra dog which I seem to recall was a poodle in the story.

I think my version was a Betty Maxey paperback, so I wouldn't know what the original illustrations were.

Aren't all the pictures taken from the Hodder hardback covers? I don't have those covers as my Famous Fives are Knight paperbacks but you're right that the April picture is from Five Have Plenty of Fun, Katharine. It's another particularly striking scene and I'll enjoy looking at it throughout April.

Many thanks Anita. I thought I would compare the two pics:

I notice in the calendar pic on the right we have lost a lot of Tim, but somehow gained a lot more of Anne's arm for some reason!

I've just had a look at the wrapper and Anne's arm is on the front flap rather than the cover! They must have taken these images from wrappers and enlarged them which is probably why they look a bit fuzzy - I know they don't have any of the original artwork as it got 'skipped' many years ago.

Thanks for that explanation Tony.
I checked it out on one of my own wrapper's and yes, Anne's arm miraculously appears!
