Uncle Quentin's Science Corner

Post by Viv of Ginger Pop »

Sometimes I come across a science story and think "what would Uncle Quentin have made of this"

The microwave was invented to heat hamsters humanely in 1950s experiments.
 :?

That was extremely fascinating, even though the concept of freezing animals to "death" in order to reanimate them does sound a little...unpleasant. I'd not heard of James Lovelock before, and I liked the way the presenter spoke of this scientist born in 1919, doing this experiment in the 1950s - and the next thing we know he's interviewing the very same man at 101 years old!

Very interesting and James Lovelock is amazing...I hope I will look and sound that well at the age of 101.
