They look really lovely Wayne. Do you know what the other 2 spaces are for?

Re: Famous Five Silver Plated Ingots?
I think the original plan was to do more in the series but as seen as they are not available from Westminster, I'm assuming they did not sell as well as first hoped.

That's a shame. I would certainly have asked for them for birthday/Christmas presents if I'd known about them.

That's a nice ingot, Wayne. Like the box, too! How long have they been available?

Re: Famous Five Silver Plated Ingots?
That IS a shame — I would have thought they'd be very popular and plenty of people would have wanted to collect the set! I really like the one I bought for my sister and I know she'll love it too (and the good thing about it being smaller than expected is that it'll cost less to post to Australia). It would have been even more fun, though, to have more of them.Wayne Pyer wrote:I think the original plan was to do more in the series but as seen as they are not available from Westminster, I'm assuming they did not sell as well as first hoped.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I had them approx. a year ago. After the initial offer, the price increased to £25.

Cheers, Wayne. I thought they'd only been out three months or so.

Re: Famous Five Silver Plated Ingots?
Those are really lovely,a shame they weren't done in a full set as I'd think they'd have sold better. I know that I don't like collecting only half of something. All 21 in a display box would have been stunning.
I'm confused about one thing though, if they are only an inch or two in size why does it say they match the exact proportions of the original books?

I think they must mean "exact proportions" as in "to scale".

That's exactly what it is Courtenay. If the ingots are 1.5" x 2", then the book would be proportionately larger e.g. 6" x 8" or 7.5" x 10". (Although I don't think the books would have had the rounded corners )

On right, the way I read it seemed to be that they were the exact size of the books!

...
Yes, gold ingots would have been a good choice. Could the silver ones be sprayed/painted gold, or dipped into a solution, vinegar or maybe something else??... somehow or other we'll find those ingots. What a lovely word. Ingots! Ingots! Ingots!"
It sounded somehow more exciting than the word gold. Nobody spoke about gold any more. They talked about the Ingots.

They do look lovely. I'll be interested to see what they finally sell for.
