I don't mind at all, as I'm in that Hotel all the time when we're in Dorset.
But I think Sally was trying to organize a boat trip from Bourne End after lunch at the Spade Oak.

Re: Knoll House Hotel
It would be nice to do both, Julie. Chick and I have happy memories of the superb cream teas we shared with you at the Knoll House Hotel. However, I think Courtenay's suggestion may have been slightly tongue-in-cheek.
The boat trip from Bourne End and a meal at the Spade Oak or a picnic lunch, suggested by Sally, would make a great day out and Chick and I would definitely be up for it.

'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

It was indeed slightly tongue-in-cheek, don't worry. I would love an excuse to go to Dorset, but the Spade Oak is a lot closer for me!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

They seem to be still functioning as a hotel, interestingly one can't book one line but have to phone or send an email with details of requirements - wonder if viewers come round whilst one's at breakfast or lunch and start examining the contents of the public rooms
"Its a magic wood!" said Fanny suddenly.
