Moved from another topic.
Just saw Bekonscot Model Village — which I'm aware many EBS members know well — is the subject of a little photo-essay by the BBC as it reopens to the public!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

That's wonderful news - I've never been, but I'd love to go.Katharine wrote:So pleased to see the model village has been able to open again, and that visitors were booking in to visit it.
Wonder how much admission is these days?

Re: Bekonscot Model Village
I loved Bekonscot when I visited, I would love to go around again one day.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Pete, according to their website, it's £11.30 for an adult.
Pete and Fiona, I hope you both get to go at some point.
I think I've been twice, and would definitely go again if I get the opportunity.

It's a long trip, but maybe one day we will take a holiday in the area and take Brodie to visit Bekonscot and Bourne End etc. And he can roll his eyes and moan about how boring Mum's obsession with Enid Blyton is!

Thanks for the price info Katharine - would probably make a good venue for a mini meet up when the world returns to normal!

I'd love to go too! I've never been to Bekonscot, and it would be lovely to meet some other EBS members there.

We had an EBS meet up there a few years ago. It was a very enjoyable day.

Yes it was. I was impressed with the model village too. There are some photographs of the day on here somewhere but I don't know where they are.

There are some here. Many seem to have vanished however and those that remain seem to have an annoying logo across them.
