I thought for a moment this was going to be about corporal punishment in Blyton books. (That might make an interesting thread, actually; let me think about it to see if there are any angles to follow there.)
I guess we all know that "lashings of ginger beer" doesn't appear in any actual book; but doesn't the phrase "lashings of cream" appear somewhere? I seem to vaguely recall that it does, although I wouldn't have a hope of recalling where.
