I'd love to see the Kenilworth photos too, Robert! Just remembered, we even have a thread under General Natter for "Castles of Interest" :D http://www.enidblytonsociety.co.uk/foru ... 0&p=173059" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Thanks for the link to that castle thread - I'll post a couple there. :-)

Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes

Yes - There was a book called 'Kenilworth' written by Sir Walter Scott - a fictional account of life in the times of Robert Dudley, who was trying to marry Elizabeth I. Robert Dudley lived in the castle. :-)
I should have started with reading the oldest post :(. You just answered my Robert Dudley question.
In 1981 one couldn't go inside, just walk around the outside from what I remember.

Mostly the castle is a ruin but the gatehouse is intact and furnished. It was lived in and used as a house until the 1930's. I think this opened to the public only about 15 years ago. :-)

I am sure that you mean essentially, not basically. I can't imagine anything that you would do would be just basic! I'd love to play it, too.
