George was furious. There were trippers on her precious island. The Five had gone over to the island yesterday, to find out who was there. When they moored up George's boat, they felt that something was missing. Even old Tim seemed strange. He sniffed the air, ran around in circles and kept coming back to his beloved little mistress, whining softly.
Then Dick realised what it was.
"All the rabbits have gone!" said Dick. "That's why it seems strange here and that explains Tim's odd behaviour!"
"How queer," said George. "Wherever can they have gone?"
They heard a sound over to the right-hand side of the island. They all looked over at once. To their amazement they saw two ladies struggling with a large sack. One had a face like a tiger. Anne was really quite scared.
"Hey, stop!" shouted George.
The four children and Timmy ran over to where the two women were standing.
"What are you doing on my island?" said George
The two women were well and truly caught. Julian took the sack from them and discovered that it was full of rabbits. The women were stealing rabbits from the island!
The long and short of it was that these women were planning to make a giant rabbit stew on the mainland, and had come over to Kirrin Island to steal rabbits. The woman with the tiger face seemed to be the ring-leader.
At that moment the police arrived. A kind Inspector with a smiling face spoke to the children.
"Ah, so you've caught the Ginger-Pop Gang for us! We've been after this pair for quite a while now!"
The two policemen escorted the villains off the Island, and took them ashore in their powerful police boat.
"Well, that was sorted out quickly!" said Julian.
"Yes it was," said George, "Timmy, come back here - you are not to start chasing those poor rabbits!"
Tee Hee that was hilarious Nigel. There may well be an accidental soaking in Ginger Beer awaiting you in Twyford though.

The bunnies on Brownsea are safe though; it's the local rabbits that need to look out! The recently retired butcher of Corfe has always shot his own game, so the meat in his shop was very local. I had intended to bring one his delicious pork pies to Twyford, but I hadn't realised that his retirement was imminent.
