Post by johansrk »

I have seen this in many of the faraway tree books. Do they have a website? Is it possible to donate anything??

The Enid Blyton Trust for Children was founded in 1982 by Enid Blyton's younger daughter, Imogen Smallwood, to help fund activities and schemes for children in memory of Enid's own charitable work. The Trust continues today, run by Imogen's daughter Sophie, but there doesn't appear to be a website and I don't know the current contact details I'm afraid. I believe that the "Bonneville Gardens" address listed on some websites may no longer be correct.

Why not donate the books to a school or children's home or hospital, or just give them away to children you know?

Are the books translated into your language and will you donate English copies of the books?

I think it's like this:
Barnardo's = name of place (as you said)
Tanners Lane = name of street/road/lane etc.
Barkingside = suburb/area
Ilford = town (or borough)
Essex = county
IG6 1QG = postal code (zip code)

Barnardo's is a children's charity. It used to be known as Dr. Barnado's Children's Homes. Like a similar organisation, National Children's Homes (now known as NCH), they have spread their wings into being much more of a children's charity.

Actually they did tranlate them last year. However I can't buy them anymore, and if I could the list price is around £19. Books are very expensive in Denmark

Ok I have donated 5 books of the faraway tree to Barnardo's which is a place for poor children in the UK. They will receive a LARGE package. I hope they will arrive safely, and be read over and over again..

The book is a large and thick edition and contains ALL the stories. It's a hard cover book containing the illustrations from the DEAN & Son Edition. It even has the right names of the characters..I can highly recommend it.

and a link to Barnardo's

Barnardo's

here is the book. T
