Sounds smashing Viking Star, especially camping in the grounds of the castle!

I enjoyed reading that. It sounds very Famous Five-ish!

What an incredibly atmospheric report, VS. It seems as if you had a really great time at Corfe Castle. I really enjoyed reading that. It seems that Viv had put on a super day's events. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Loved reading your report Viking Star. It sounded a really great day. Especially camping overnight at Corfe Castle. That must have been really atmospheric, just like being on Kirrin Island.
Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.

Re: Enid Blyton's Birthday Party 2007
Thanks for all the kind replies!
When I wrote the post, I ran out of time to sort out the pictures (it was about half past midnight). So here they are. A couple are actually from last year (long before I had learnt to put photos on the forums) plus, for some reason the photo of this year's EB birthday cake doesn't want to be re-sized - so I've included a picture of last year's (which personally I prefer anyway!).

O the ignominy! Poor Enid's bust in wheelbarrow, waiting to be carted away!
Enid's 2006 birthday cake
Darkness falls on the castle as we set out to explore
Is that fencing round the tower? Is Uncle Quentin doing some more experiments?
In search of treasure - look out for the villains!
I do wish you'd take this adventuring seriously, Viv!
Is that a secret passage at the back of the fireplace? Even Timmy couldn't squeeze through there. Send for Buster!
A well deserved midnight feast!
The next day: view from the cliff where David and I had brunch. It's looking towards Swanage, but I can't remember exactly where from...
Well that's all folks!

Re: Enid Blyton's Birthday Party 2007
I like the captions! That "Enid's head in a wheelbarrow" picture is quite surreal. If that were exhibited at the Tate, it would win awards I'm sure. It's symbolic of the way Enid's work has been dismissed by so many, and consigned to the manure heap. Yet the rust is on the wheelbarrow itself, not on the statue, showing that Enid Blyton will endure!

Thanks VS - the picture with David apparently about to have a heart attack and Mark with gleaming red eyes sent a shiver down my spine!
I've also got some pics on disc - I'd like to show the castle with some blue sky. Please would someone give me some idiot proof instructions on how to do it please.
