The Man Who Wasn't Father Christmas
This story really intrigued me. I can't remember reading it.
I have it in my copy of Enid Blyton's Christmas Tales (below).

What a lovely little story.
Even though it's a Christmas story, reading it today (Thursday before Easter) the penny purse reminds me a little bit of Maundy Money.
