The Best Children's Stories Of The Year 1946 Book arrived today.
It's much smaller than I imagined it would be.
It's about the same as a red boarded Famous Five book.
It contains the Enid Blyton short story 'The Disappearing Prizes' which I have never read before.
" A kind heart always brings its own reward," said Mrs. Lee.

Thanks for posting that, Pete. I think I can see where the story is heading!
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.

Yes, it's a plot device Enid used a few times I think!
Here's the one illustration from the story. Not too bad.
" A kind heart always brings its own reward," said Mrs. Lee.
