Poem "There's fog today, the world is strange..."

Post by Carole »

Hello

As a six year old (I'm now almost 63) I was taught this Enid Blyton poem which I recite dramatically to my wide-eyed grandsons:

"There's fog today, the world is strange
The cars and motor-buses change
To looming monsters full of eyes
That glare at me in great surprise"

On the web I see that it's called "A Foggy Day" and has 20 lines. It was used in The Enid Blyton Poetry Book [Methuen, September 1933].

Can anyone possibly please send me the other lines.... I'm desperate to know them.... (you know how that feels I'm sure....)

Welcome, Carole. That poem appears on our November "Monthly Blyton" page - click on the link below:

Very apt today as it's a foggy morning here and I awoke to the sound of foghorns.

What a great poem. Perfect for this morning as it was very foggy first thing.
