It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

If Julie had an eight foot Christmas tree, the decorations would stop about halfway up! :wink:

Ho-ho-hope darling mother and lovely Cookie prepared a great Christmas Dinner for you all! ;)

Julian and George looked at the Boxing Day picnic they had been given by Aunt Fanny. 'Hmmm' said Julian "Turkey Sandwiches, Christmas Cake, even more Turkey Sandwiches and a packet of chocolate biscuits."

"I vote we just eat the biscuits and feed the rest to good old Tim" replied George. "Perhaps we could row out to my island and open a few tins of pineapple that we left in the cave.;

"Woof Woof" barked Timothy.

It was the worst Christmas ever for my family.

Blame me. I had the lurgy, but was Taxi for our Treat on the Swanage railway, a week before the Big Day.

Step-father developed breathing difficulties over Christmas lunch. I wasn’t sure that he would last the day. He is now in Poole Hospital. At least we know that it isn’t flu or covid.

Mother has mild dementia, arthritis and the lurgy. Sometimes she can walk around the garden, but now she can’t stand up even when she needs the loo.

The NHS swung into action, with nurses, carers, equipment providers etc. Even so, step-father had a 27 hour wait in an A&E cubicle before being admitted to a ward – and seems to be moved to a new ward each day.

I’ve now developed ear infections in both ears. However, brother and sister are staying with mother and being heroic.

I hope you’ve had a better start to the year than us!

Sorry to hear all this Viv. My own wasn’t great either as it’s the first since my dad’s passing and my mum’s in a nursing home and not happy about it! I now also have the lurgy so all in all 2023 seems to be taking up where 2022 left off. :roll:
