Yes, a truly wonderful and remarkable lady Katharine.
I must admit hearing the news as it happened on tv earlier instantly brought tears to my eyes.

Truly sad news. A wonderful lady whose devotion to service humbles us all. For most of us she has been a constant presence throughout our whole lives. How strange it will be without her.

RIP Queen Elizabeth II.

Like most of us, I've never known another monarch. I saw her in 1967 when she knighted Sir Francis Chichester at Greenwich. RIP Your Majesty.

A very sad day King Charles the third has just spoken (and that's his title now) as chosen by him. Let's hope he can find the same standard of service and devotion to his nation and the commonwealth

Really sad news, for as long as I could remember, she was there. May Her Majesty rest in peace.

What went through my mind was Kiki saying 'God save the Queen'.

I'm 68 years old and it seems strange that I've never known another monarch in all my life.
When I and two friends were walking back to our car after watching the Euro 96 Cup Final at Wembley between Germany and Czech Republic, her motorcade passed us on the journey back to the Palace.
I gave her a cheeky wave and she waved back!
Now at rest after a lifetime of devotion to her subjects.

Sad news. Queen Elizabeth II's dignified presence and ceaseless dedication over the decades helped give us a feeling of stability even during the hardest times. She'll be missed.

Very sad news. We all knew she couldn't go on forever and yet it is hard to imagine a future without her.

"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.
