Excellent Viv. I love the Faraway Tree, especially with the figures. The blue, yellow and red station house is also very striking.

Uncle is coming on a visit next week, so I thought I'd better show some progress with the railway. I have had some set-backs which got me rather despondent with the project, such as points that didn't work, wagons that wouldn't couple, plus increased Caring duties.

However, I have been doing a few jobs in slow time and the wide photo will show a 'first draft' of just one way the switching layout can be laid out.

One of the 10 stations is for Stonehenge, and since we are approaching the mid-summer solstice, I have filled the stones with happy hippies celebrating the sunrise!

I have got the figures to stand up by themselves by gluing oblong beads to the backs of their legs. These blue beads look far more prominent in the camera-flash than in real life.

Looking great so far, Viv. You can tell that it's all really taking shape. :D
I can't see the Magic Faraway Tree or the Lady Green Man on the 'first draft' photos. Are they on there? Or where will they go if they aren't?

Brilliant work Viv, well done! I especially like the idea of the happy hippies celebrating the summer solstice at Stonehenge!!! Very topical indeed.

Not sure that the NT would appreciate Stonehenge being in the middle of a railway complex! :D

It's English Heritage that owns Stonehenge, although the National Trust owns most of the surrounding countryside, so I'm not sure which of them would have more to say about the railway... Regardless, Viv, it's looking fantastic! :D

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

English Heritage owns the stones*, the NT owns the land. As the railway is on the land, I would imagine they would be most upset. Also, railway passengers would get up close to the stones without paying EH a penny!

*In spite of the henge being given to the nation, free of charge.
