No wait, that's what the Famous Five pack, sorry.
You forgot the block of chocolate that sustains you when you’re stranded, shipwrecked or imprisoned by villains!

But it would melt within an hour in the summer heat here in Australia…

That’s about $220 in AUD - but not the way my daughter shops! $$$$

I use a very ancient version of this sort of bed

The legs act as springs, so it is very comfortable. In winter I add a carrymat for warmth, but in a hot summer the canvas is cooler than a plastic airbed

Fully adult by age, about 12-15 yo in many respects. An artist.
Single and she makes her own money and spends it the way she wants to.
She has a strong belief in buying quality, always

pete9012S wrote: 13 Jan 2022, 12:35 Great question Jomo!

A friend who camps regularly recommends this set up for the times in the night you don't want to trek to the toilets on site.

These portable stoves are great to cook on:
Great ideas Pete!
The portable gas stove is an essential, as there are total fire bans in force in most places during peak summer months, the risk of starting a bushfire is very real.

Jomo, there's a really great online checklist here too:
Camping Checklist
There's always something that gets forgotten when packing for a camping trip. Having a well thought out camping checklist can help you to prevent this from happening. Here are our recommendations of camping essentials to take on any trip.

That's a very good list.

No wonder poor Uncle Quentin fell over the pile of stuff in the hallway

Excellent checklist Pete! I’ve forwarded it to her :D

Viv, Uncle Quentin would trip over his own shadow. Hopeless.

Have you forgotten that Jomo's daughter is in Australia, Fiona, where it is the height of summer, or are you just thinking of camping in Scotland at this point in time? :D
Have you forgotten that IceMaiden isn't Fiona and is in Wales?

Boatbuilder wrote: 14 Jan 2022, 01:02We rarely have heating on in the bedroom, even at our age, and that's nothing to do with the current high fuel prices - just a comfort thing.
I never put my bedroom radiator on overnight because it would irritate my dry skin/eczema. Even during the day, I use my radiators rarely (I don't have central heating but I have individual electric radiators in the main rooms). I wear several layers though, and I wouldn't like to be in a tent in the UK at this time of year!

Don't worry, Anita, I must be going through a bad patch. I have been crossing over Viv and Julie in another topic. I'm putting it down to age as one of the excuses. :D

No worries! It's not so long ago that I muddled "evacuees" and "refugees" in a post!
