Happy Birthday Maria Elena
It's my sister's first birthday away from home and missing her a lot right now so using this to also wish her again a very Happy 22nd Birthday! Have tons of fun in Southampton and drink ginger beer! Try to celebrate in a Blytonesque way!

Yes indeed, she's known me since she was three! (And I have known her all my life hehe)
I wish I could say I was the one who introduced my sister to Enid Blyton but it was the other way around! So I have to thank my sister because I don't think I would have discovered EB or become part of this Society if it hadn't been for her!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Hahah and yes, I introduced my sister to Enid Blyton. At first she didn't want to read anything I loved (sister things) but then she read even more Blyton than me!
And yes I did have a lovely Blytonesque picnic a few days after in a really nice spot I found in the Common. Lashings of ginger beer, sandwiches, fruit cake, fresh strawberries, boiled eggs, shortbread... It was a nice picnic, and food always tastes better when eaten outdoors!
Also, I found two of my best friends in medicine are HUGE Blyton fans!

The picnic sounds deliciously Blytonesque, Maria Elena, and it's always heartening to find out that friends are fans of Enid Blyton.

Do all of your female relatives have Maria as their first name? It doesn't take much to confuse me, but.....
