Some time ago we booked a week in Lisbon, but not sure if it'll be allowed now, and if it is, what we'll be able to do. We had planned to do lots of adventuring, visit museums, ride the tram etc, but may have to push it back to 2022.

I think we'll still do lots of day trips, I need to get out and about after having barely travelled out of town in over a year.

Just under two weeks till my Cornwall holiday... :D I'm enjoying hearing others' plans and I hope everyone gets to their chosen destinations soon, or somewhere else nice at least!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

From the 12th April, we're allowed to open up our static caravan in Dorset, so that's where we'll be heading firstly, then in May we have a weeks holiday booked in the Isle of Wight, which was cancelled last year due to covid, and which we moved to this year. So hopefully we'll be able to go this time.

That's great news Julie. I hope you and Stephen have a lovely holiday.

We had booked a week in Wales in May and another week away in Wales in July. I think the May holiday is now looking very unlikely.

Sorry to hear about the May holiday, Pete. I thought Wales had lifted their holiday restrictions?

For the Welsh only Julie.
The cottage we had booked was less than 100 yards from the English border - so near yet so far!

Pete, I believe they’re considering allowing travel between the English and Welsh border from April 12. I may be wrong.

Yes Deej - We can have a day out in Wales, but unlike in England, I think only the people who live in Wales can stay overnight and holiday in Wales.

I would love to find out that I am wrong about this though!!!

Ahh right, okay Pete. I imagine by mid-May you’ll be able to though as a lot of restrictions are ending by then (well in England they are anyway). When in May are you meant to be going?

My girlfriend’s mum and stepdad have a caravan in North Wales and I know how keen they are to be able to go again!

The first week in May Deej - we have been looking for alternatives in England instead.

Well, we managed to get away to our favourite cottage deep in the heart of mid-Wales.

Weather? A really mixed bag. A lovely day yesterday. We bought some carrots and apples and polo mints for the ponies that visit us at the bottom of the garden.

The field has ponies, newborn lambs, and baby bullox that look like they have only just been born.
There are Red Kites soaring overhead, crows and robins.

Little rabbits are scampering about at dusk near the hedgerows.
The owner has kindly allowed us to stay here for another week.

The weather is slightly more inclement today..

Courtenay and Pete it sounds like you have had lovely holidays. :D

I still don't have anything booked. Partly is the cost, although it seems that some holiday accommodation is coming down in price.

I'm waiting to see if firstly the prices come down close enough to what I would normally pay, and secondly, there are a couple of other events pencilled in which may dictate when/where I have a holiday.

I'll also be keeping an eye on infection rates too - no point travelling to a part of the country where the rates are twice as high as where I'm living.

Looks lovely in those pictures, Pete!

I’m going to North Wales for the BH weekend at the end of May. We’re staying in a chalet in a caravan park. :)

Hope you do manage to get a break at a reasonable price Katharine.

Which part of North Wales are you headed to Deej? I will be working on the Bank Holiday weekend you are away if that makes you feel even better!
