I’ve just heard the sad news that Trevor Peacock has died at the age of 89. He will probably be best remembered for playing Jim Trott in The Vicar of Dibley, but I remember him as a songwriter, singer and television presenter from the early sixties. Here he is singing I Didn’t Figure On Him To Come Back from 1961:

RIP Trevor Peacock.
I posted the following on the forums in 2016:
Trevor Peacock, who will be celebrating his 85th birthday on 19th May, was hilarious in The Vicar of Dibley, but he was also a very talented songwriter in the 50s and 60s. He wrote songs for Adam Faith, Billy Fury, Jess Conrad, Joe Brown and Herman's Hermits among others. Trevor is also a superb serious actor, having appeared in Waiting for Godot, She Stoops to Conquer, Madame Bovary, The Old Curiosity Shop and many other films and stage productions. His son, Daniel, played Toby Thurlow in The Comic Strip Presents... Five Go Mad in Dorset (1982), Five Go Mad on Mescalin (1983) and Five Go to Rehab (2012).
RIP Trevor Peacock

That's a really good track, Eddie. He also wrote some memorable songs.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
