RIP Christopher Plummer
I see Katharine has also posted about this, but I thought we could make a new thread.
I was deeply heartbroken and cried a lot when I read the news yesterday and heard that Christopher Plummer had passed away.
A true legend of cinema, and one of the best classical actors. It is saddening how all the great film stars are now leaving us.
He has been a favourite actor of mine since I was five years old, and one of my childhood heroes as well. His death leaves a void in my life, but I know that he has been born into immortality, and will forever be remembered, like those incredible actors that predeceased him.
Will probably watch one of his movies today as a tribute to his life and career, which was truly a blessing.

RIP Christopher Plummer. I've always admired him as Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music.

Re: RIP Christopher Plummer
Thanks for starting a new thread, I wasn't sure if he was well known enough to start one.
As I posted elsewhere, I was sorry to see this news as The Sound of Music is one of my favourite films.
Last year I saw him in the cinema in Knives Out, although I didn't realise it was him until I read the credits, and even now, I find it hard to recognise him as the same person who played Captain Von Trapp. It was a very good film, although a bit gory in places.

Sad news. RIP Christopher Plummer.

I knew of Christopher Plummer as General Chang, from Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country.

Oh I might have seen him in that too, as I've seen quite a few of the earlier Star Trek films.

I've watched them all, Katharine. Christopher Plummer does portray General Chang, exceedingly well. Especially since the character is Klingon!

Sadly, another great actor exits for the big stage in the sky. R.I.P. Christopher Plummer.

Re: RIP Christopher Plummer
I too felt very sad when I heard the news late last night, as Christopher Plummer was always one of my favourite actors, perhaps because "The Sound of Music" was the first colour film that I saw. Up to then I had only been to the cinema to watch Laurel & Hardy, which were of course in black and white.

RIP Christopher Plummer. I've only ever seen him in The Sound Of Music which I've watched every year since I was too young to remember and loved him in. To me he will always be the dashing Captain Von Trapp.
