I have just received an email from Julie herself, which I will share with you all here if I may, as it gives us a more detailed update as to how she is, and also includes her thanks to everyone for their thoughts and good wishes:
Julie:

Just wanted to answer you quickly, as I can't stay long on a computer as it hurts my head and my eyes. I was stationary and got rear shunted at about 20 mph, which caused me to get concussion and severe whiplash. I was taken to hospital, by the paramedics on a stretcher board that straps you in tightly and my head was locked into a vice sort of box, in case I'd broken my neck.

I'm home now, but feel very rough and do have pain in my neck and head still. I can't stand lights at the moment, hence a quick reply on here. Please tell everyone who has posted, it's kind of them, thanks for their wishes. I believe you have reported this on the EBS forums too, so please on my behalf Pete, can you just update everyone of both forums, and thank them for their wishes.

Bye for now

Julie

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to call in quickly to thank you all for the lovely wishes.

I'm getting there slowly, I guess when you're over 65, it takes a little longer to get over. According to our doc who spoke with me, the day after the accident, he said it would be a few weeks!!!

I'm not a person who likes to sit around and rest, as I've been advised too, so let's hope that time can be shortened, somewhat.

Thank you again, everyone. :D

Lovely to hear you are on the road to recovery Julie.

Has it put you off driving Julie?

Somebody rear-ended my wife in an accident very similar to yours about twenty years ago.
She eventually started driving again but was hesitant to do so at first.
