Elvis Presley - The King

This situation is similar to (and slightly off topic) my favourite singer Elvis Presley. He recorded more than 900 songs yet if you go to any music shop these days all you will find are the same 40 greatest hits recycled over and over again in new packages.

I read John's comments posted some years ago with much interest.
I was surprised that we have a dedicated thread for The Beatles, but apparently not for Elvis Presley?

As John noted above Elvis recorded more than 900 songs.

I would be very interested to see if we can recommend at least a top twenty of Elvis recordings not as well known as his inevitable greatest hits that seem to keep doing the rounds?


Can we compile our own lesser known top twenty?

Thanks John - I like you despair that there seems to be an endless flow of regurgitated most popular Elvis tracks.

My Dad's best friend Bill is an Elvis fanatic, along with Bruce Springsteen, so I cannot take too much credit for knowing some of Elvis' lesser known songs!
