Let's hope it doesn't come to that...

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

The conversation about rice cakes and polystyrene is interesting because it takes me back to hating a particular food simply because of its texture. When I was a child, I had a cuddly toy dog called, naturally enough, Doggy. But one day when my grandparents bought me my first candyfloss, I took one mouthful and wailed "It's like eating Doggy!"

Sid the paper boy was partial to chocolate mould.
"The things I'm partial to I like very much, see?" he explains to Anne in "Five Fall Into adventure", the 9th FF book.

Then there was the other Sid, Ern's brother, who was partial to toffee in "The Mystery of the Vanished Prince", the 9th Find-Outers mystery. Sid could only say "Ar" as a result of the toffee "glueing up" his mouth and thus reducing his vocabulary to that of a puffin.

No - chocolate mould is a real dessert! I imagine it's something like a mousse or blancmange or milk jelly (chocolate-flavoured, of course), set in a mould that gives it a particular shape.
