Re: Happy Birthday Boatbuilder!
Thank you everyone for your kind wishes. I love the cat, IceMaiden.
It has been a better birthday than I expected to have just a few days ago and I'll tell you why.
Almost two weeks ago Enid had to go into hospital having had a fall at home a day or two before that. Thankfully nothing serious (broken) was found but because of her disability and her other medical issues, she has been in there ever since and it has affected her mental health and she seems to have been suffering from dilerium as she has just not been the Enid I know. She was moved onto a different ward on Thursday night and into a room of her own. Without going into detail, last night our daughter mentioned to the nurses about one thing that we found out can contribute to dilerium and which we believed might be the main cause. The nurses in turn spoke to the doctor who agreed on the course of action our daughter suggested. This course of action actually happened whilst our daughter was still there and it made a tremendous difference to her almost immediately.
When I went in to see Enid this afternoon, I couldn't believe how different she was, for the better, compared to how she has been for the past 10 to 12 days. Certainly the best birthday present I could have wished for under the circumstances. Hopefully things will now contiune in the same vein so she can be discharged in near future. However additional care will need to be put in place for her at home - something which was underway for a few weeks before all this happened, too complex to go into detail why, but was pushed back to square one after Enid was in hospital for more than 24 hours, so it has to start all over again, this time being instigated by the hospital. However, we now seem to be heading in the right direction.
Once again, thanks everyone for the birthday wishes - which have also helped make the day.

Sorry to hear about Enid's health problems, but good news that she's picking up, and I hope you'll get the additional care plan sorted asap.

Re: Happy Birthday Boatbuilder!
Thank you Chrissie, Monique and Katharine for your kind comments. They are very much appreciated.
Our daughter Julie visited Enid tonight (we are only allowed two one-hourly visits per day with one person per visit) and she Face-timed me when she was there. Enid was even better than she was this afternoon, so it has been such a positive day for her - one I could only have dreamt about just a few days ago.

Sorry about Enid's health problems, John, but I'm glad things are improving and I hope it won't be long before she's home again.
