It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Happy Birthday, Boatbuilder! Hope you have a thoroughly Blytonian day! :-D

hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Thanks Julie and Rob.

If painting my summerhouse is classed as 'Blytonian' Rob, then it sure will be. I remember Kit in 'The Boy Next Door' showing the other children how to apply white paint on the houseboat, and that is the colour I'll be using today :D

Maybe you'll find a long-lost box of treasure under one of the seats, or hidden inside the wall panels. You never know!

Or maybe a box with a secret compartment containing a treasure map, like in The Treasure Hunters? :D Don't go showing it to Mr Potts though...

It so happens I have only had the summerhouse for two weeks and I watched it being erected. Unfortunately there was no evidence of any secret panels or compartments and the seats, etc., that I put in it were all brand new. :(
